Street Fair
Each year in the second week of June the Jericho Community Association
organizes the Jericho Street Fair, which occupies most of Canal Street.

The 2009 Street Fair, organized by the Jericho Community Assocation, attracted thousands of people to Canal Street on June 13.

Stall holders sold many kinds of goods including arts and crafts and allotment produce. Many local organizations displayed their activities.

One of the most popular activites, inside the Community Centre, is the sumo wrestling organized by Paul Hartley.

Street Fair organizer and JCA Chair, Charlotte Christie of Canal Street, and the vicar of St Barnabas, Father Jonathan Beswick, organize the Raffle draw. Christopher Beswick seems not at all embarassed at having pulled one of his own tickets from the bucket.
Fair goers donated coins to help children from St. Barnabas Sunday School construct a coin picture of Jericho's italianate-style church.
A busy evening at the Bookbinders as the music continues into the evening
This year's Street Fair on June was a huge success. Taking advantage of a warm sunny day, thousands of people crowded into Canal Street. Our thanks to everyone who put in so much effort to make it such an enjoyable day. Thanks also to local businesses who donated prizes for the raffle: Daisies, Sylvester, Walton Cycles, Lizzie James, Run Oxford, Café Roma, AL Andalus Tapas Bar, G&D's, the Phoenix Cinema, Juno, Café Rouge, JC Penney and Partymania.
Our thanks to Oxford City Council for their financial support towards providing stalls for the Fair.
