New art gallery
Chesterton at the Slade, aged 20Jericho will have its own art gallery from May 1. ‘Art Jericho’ will occupy the ground floor of the building in King Street which faces onto the school.
Owner Patricia Baker-Cassidy, says: “My hope is to promote the work of younger artists and those with a connection to Oxford. The first exhibition will be ‘The Art of G K Chesterton’ with hitherto unpublished drawings. I have a particular interest in etchings, aquatints, woodcuts etc, so hope that I will always have a range of these for sale. Artists who would like to build public awareness by inviting groups to discuss their work would be supported. They may contact me through the gallery website: www.artjericho.com.”
