Briefly....
Tea with the Lord Mayor
Some of Jericho's older residents take advantage of Susanna Pressel's term as mayor with a special tea in her parlour.Watch out for hawks
Jericho's portly pigeons are getting out of hand. They are attracted by people feeding them - which also encourages them to breed. Some older residents find it difficult to use their garden or balcony because of pigeon droppings particularly in Whitworth Place. The Council housing manager has arranged for hawks to frighten away the pigeons. So you may see some unusual birds overhead.
Drugs arrests
The police have carried out a number of drugs raids in Jericho in the last few weeks and made several arrests. One of the drug users is also thought to be responsible for some of our graffiti. Some of the dealing was taking place in sheds at the back of Shirley Place which have now been fenced off.
Can you spend £55,000?
Jericho has a £55,000 contribution from the Lucy’s development to spend on facilities for young people. Some is earmarked for the Aristotle Lane recreation ground, but the Council would like to hear ideas for using the rest.
